Joint Exhibition at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai: “Near-Future Breast Cancer Screening Through Breath Analysis”
— Recreating Next-Generation Medical Experiences in the Metaverse —

MediScan Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Koichiro Yoshino; hereinafter “MediScan”) and PERSOL Marketing Inc. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Hiroyuki Suzuki; hereinafter “PERSOL Marketing”) have been selected to exhibit at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai as members of the Metaverse Promotion Council (Representative Director: Takeshi Yoro), a partner of the Future Society Showcase project “Future Life Expo / Future Life Experience.” The exhibition will present a video showcasing a future medical experience utilizing the metaverse, highlighting new possibilities born from the fusion of healthcare and technology.
■ Background
MediScan is founded on the mission of “delivering optimal healthcare to as many people as possible,” and is engaged in the research and development of a “breath analysis screening kit” that detects signs of breast cancer simply by breathing into the device, as well as providing online medical consultation services.
PERSOL Marketing is a pioneer in metaverse space operation support, having accumulated extensive expertise in the field. The company defines the metaverse as “a new workspace that expands human behavioral domains and choices,” and aims to create employment opportunities and expand work options within virtual spaces.
With support from the Metaverse Promotion Council, this exhibition was realized through the shared vision of both companies: “to bridge gaps in age, gender, and regional access, and to create a future where everyone can access healthcare.”
■ Exhibition Details
The exhibition features a video depicting a next-generation medical experience in which a patient who has taken a breath analysis test at home visits a metaverse “Clinic of the Future” to receive their results. In this virtual clinic, patients and doctors can communicate through avatars, enabling convenient remote healthcare while maintaining mutual privacy.
If the at-home screening kit currently under development and the metaverse as a new healthcare platform become a reality, they have the potential to help address the shortage of doctors in rural areas caused by an aging population and to reduce regional disparities in healthcare access. At Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai — themed around “a place where diverse values intersect” — we will share new possibilities for healthcare and insights for solving social challenges with the world.

■ Comment from Koichiro Yoshino, CEO of MediScan Inc.
In Japan, more than 90,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, making early detection increasingly critical. However, screening rates remain low compared to other developed countries, largely due to the psychological barriers associated with mammography, such as pain and anxiety. We are developing a “breath analysis screening kit” that can detect signs of breast cancer simply by breathing into the device, and we believe it holds great potential as a new approach that complements the limitations of conventional screening methods.
Because this screening kit can be handled as a dried specimen, we aim to build a society where it can reach areas with limited access to healthcare, and we envision future applications for a wide range of diseases. In addressing such challenges of “healthcare that is hard to reach,” our collaboration with PERSOL Marketing Inc., which has established platforms for social implementation through the metaverse, is truly meaningful. How can technology connect people with healthcare? We hope that through this exhibition, as many people as possible will catch a glimpse of the possibilities of “next-generation healthcare.”
